Morning

The Castello District and its Views

Head up to Castello via the Saint Remy Bastion or along Via Manno, the city's main shopping street. At the top you'll find the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Palazzo Regio and the medieval towers of the Elephant and San Pancrazio.

Museums

The Museum Citadel

The city's most important cultural complex is home to the National Archaeological Museum — a must for its unique Nuragic bronzes — the National Gallery and the Siamese Art Museum.

Afternoon

Flamingos and the Molentargius Salt Pans

Take the CTM bus from Piazza Matteotti to the Molentargius Park: hundreds of pink flamingos live in the salt pans year-round. Then carry on to Poetto beach — seven kilometres of white sand just minutes from the city centre.

Evening

Aperitivo on the Bastions

Head back to the centre for drinks at the Saint Remy Bastion or the Santa Croce Bastion: sweeping views over the city and sea, local wine and Sardinian bites. The perfect way to end the day.

Castello

The medieval hilltop quarter. Aragonese towers, a cathedral, noble palaces and breathtaking views across the gulf.
